Being based on the east coast of Spain I run half & full day tours, plus a popular 'short break' birdwatching around the Valencia, Alicante, & Albacete Regions. Although these regions are better known for their coastal resorts there is a wide variety of reserves and natural spaces in which to find a fantastic range of wildlife. Living and owning a guesthouse (website here) in Oliva I can run my birding tours from this central location, and you can stay at our warm & friendly establishment. For further information on Oliva Rama Tours Click Here. Oliva Rama Tours is very pleased to announce a collaboration with local business Bella Vista Apartment Resort in the hope of attracting couples, families or groups who want more than just a birdwatching holiday. From my own experience I know that the passion for birdwatching is generally restricted to one or two members of a family with the other members sometimes struggling to occupy their time on other recreational activities. For further information on this Wonderful Opportunity We also have on offer inclusive birdwatching holidays to other areas of Spain including Andalucia, Extremadura, Picos de Europa & the Pyrenees, plus Short Breaks to Catalonia, Castilla y Leon & the Aragon Steppes & Pyrenees. Our current Western Palearctic bird tour programme has short breaks to Bulgaria, Southern France, Latvia & Scotland, plus an all-inclusive holidays to Eastern Poland, Southern Morocco and Egypt's Red Sea Coast Holidays & Short Breaks of 2008/09 Click Here. 7th - 14th November Cost - ₤990 (inc flights) This is a fairly unique birdwatching experience aimed at anyone wanting to improve their identification of some of the trickier species to be found along the Red Sea coastline. Our main base will in one of the many self contained resorts of Hurghada on an all-inclusive basis with a two night adventure to the extreme south of the country. Most of the week we will be dividing the time with seawatching, daily walks around the complex, and travelling to some of the birdwatching sites surrounding this coastal town including the golf course at El Gouna, Safaga Mangroves and the excellent local Water Treatment Plant. Midweek we will journey south with stops en-route but our main aim will be to arrive at the Hamata Mangroves to try and find Goliath Heron, a very rare bird in the Western Palearctic. We will be spending the next two nights at the superb Ecolodge Diving Centre at Wadi Lahami, with full day heading further south to the Sudanese border town of Bir Shalatein, a known site for the enigmatic Lappet faced Vulture plus possibly other rare WP species. This holiday will be a fairly intensive week with some fairly early starts for the best of the southbound migration but will be conducted in a very relaxed and light-hearted manner with two very knowledgable and experienced guides.
