The bird everyone wants to see on a trip to the Pyrenees. This photo was taken at Riglos (March 2008) where they over-winter in small numbers, we saw three.
What a magnificent bird, this male is just about to leave it's nest.. This hole was found at San Juan de la Peña (May 2008) thanks to Roy Atkins and very well watched by lots of people being right on the edge of the main road.
The female returning to nest after collecting food for their young. Thanks to John Moon for this superb photo.
One of the rarest and most difficult species to see in Europe, yet Oliva Rama Holidays still has a 100% success rate. Taken on the Belchite Plains on our May 2008 holiday by Darren Starkey.
A fairly easy bird to find in winter but becoming harder as the breeding season starts and they move to the highest areas. This photo was expertly taken by John Moon in June 2008 near the French border.
An increasingly easy bird to find now in these mountains with a chance of finding one in most of the High Pyrenean sites. This record shot was taken at the Boca de Infierno as it passed overhead.
A bird not found in the Pyrenees this summer visitor can be seen at close quarters around my home town of Oliva. Seeing this makes for a nice start to the holiday.
A speciality breeding species of Moro Marsh near Valencia and not always an easy bird to find. Due to it's proximity to Valencia Airport makes it an ideal place to complete your week's holiday.
This lovely North American wader is probably the best find of any of our holidays to this area. A true Spanish rarity that was found in a muddy pool on the steppes of Alfás.
Not a rare or secretive bird but I like this photo taken on my recent September holiday to the Pyrenees & N/E Spain.
A fairly common mammal found in the extensive pine forests of the mountains. This one was outside the Hotel Uson (our accommodation) where it could be found on most mornings.
Taken in the Hecho Valley (September 2008), the snow on the tops was very early and quite unexpected, as were the -1 temperatures!!!.

What can I say, it looks great fun.
A wonderfully atmospheric place and with great birds.
